ABOUT
I'm Francesca De Luca — a photographer, film director, and writer.
I came to images before I came to film. Photography taught me patience — how to stay with something a little longer than necessary, and how quickly meaning can form or fade away.
I grew up between London and Rome, two cities that ask you to look differently. One pulls everything into the present; the other lets moments linger at a distance before they come into focus. My work moves between these two dimensions, shaping how I frame.
I think of framing as a choice about what stays and what disappears. Sometimes an image comes before I know what I’m looking at. When that moment arrives, I try not to interrupt it too soon.
